Former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi alleged before the State Legislative Council that her husband and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad did not do any wrongdoing, despite this, she was punished.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday targeted the RJD leader and his former Deputy Tejashwi Yadav, referring to his father and former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav during a debate in the assembly on Tuesday. The Chief Minister retaliated at Yadav soon after Kumar stood up to speak in the assembly about the development work done by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state, “What was the first in Bihar? It was me who made your (Tejashwi Yadav) father. Even your caste people were asking me why I am doing this, but I still supported him.”
On the other hand, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Devi alleged before the State Legislative Council that her husband and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) President Lalu Prasad did not do any wrongdoing, despite this, she was punished. Leader of Opposition in the Upper House, Rabri Devi, also complained to the Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Income Tax Department of receiving notice every other day. Within the House, he turned to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal (United) spokesperson and Legislative Council Member (MLC) Neeraj Kumar, saying, “You like to target Lalu ji and call him from the prisoner number given while in jail.” Lalu ji was punished without doing anything wrong. ”
The RJD chief had to leave the post of Chief Minister in 1997 due to the filing of chargesheet in the fodder scam and had to hand over the command to his wife. Prasad was convicted in a fodder scam case in 2013 and has since been convicted in several other cases. During the tenure of the RJD chief during the Railway Minister, “jobs in lieu of land” and other members of his family are currently on the ED radar in the hotel scam case. Rabri Devi also made a sarcasm while making this comment on the JD (U) leader, “You guys live in fear of ED, CBI and Income Tax Department. Look at us, we are given notices by these agencies every other day. But we are living in Bihar without any fear and working. ”
