The friendship between Japan and India is constantly getting stronger and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train is the biggest example of this. When this deal was signed in 2017, India sought Shinkansen E5 Bullet Train from Japan. But now the E10 bullet train with more latest technology has been approved for India in Japan. This shows that Japan considers India not just a customer but a reliable friend and partner. The friendship between India and Japan is not from today. Japan has also played a big role at the beginning of Delhi Metro. In 1997, there was an agreement between India and Japan. In which Japan gave 60 percent funding for Delhi Metro. The first phase of Delhi Metro in 2002 was completed in just four years. Then it was inaugurated. After the success of Delhi Metro, India also decided to pursue the bullet train project with Japan.

Why the project was delayed
The Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project was to be completed by 2023. But this project was late. The reasons behind this were given the dispute over land acquisition in Maharashtra and Gujarat. A big political reason was that there were frequent changes in the Maharashtra government and it also affected the project. The construction slowed down during the Kovid epidemic. Now that this project is moving fast, Japan has given a special gift for India. India had a Dimangdi of the E5 Bullet Train in 2017, which was operating in Japan at that time. But now Japan has approved India E10 model which became even more advanced in speed, technology and safety. This train will be launched simultaneously in both India and Japan in 2029-30.
What is the difference between E5 and E10
The Maxim speed of Shinkansen E5 is 320 kmph. However, the start of Shinkansen E10 has been agreed, which offers a better version with a top speed of 400 kmph. The E5 series is a Japanese Shinkansen high-speed train operated by the Eastern Japan Railway Company on Tohoku Shinkansen services since March 5, 2011. Japan’s desire to launch the E10 model simultaneously in India and the desire to launch E10 models simultaneously symbolizes a historic step in high-speed rail innovation. India is expected to get two E10 bullet train models.
