Shinde angry

After the results last November, the BJP had decided to make Fadnavis the Chief Minister, after which Shiv Sena chief Shinde had to be satisfied with the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Shinde’s supporters believe that BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP alliance won the assembly elections due to decisions, development and welfare schemes during his two and a half year term (June 2022 to November 2024) as Chief Minister. According to Shiv Sena leaders, Shinde was not keen to accept the post of Deputy Chief Minister, but his party’s colleagues and top BJP leaders convinced him to be a part of Fadnavis -led government. The decisions regarding the patron ministers of Raigad and Nashik districts saw a rift increasing.

Uddhav is praising

The opposition Shiv Sena (Ubatha) praised the recent decision of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to dismiss the names of private assistants suggested by some ministers, saying that he is taking tough measures to curb corruption. Uddhav Thackeray -led party also targeted Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in an editorial in its mouthpiece ‘Saamana’. Shinde is the head of the rival Shiv Sena and his relationship with Fadnavis is said to be “stressful”. In early January, Saamana unexpectedly praised Fadnavis when he visited the Naxal -affected Gadchirauli district and announced that the steel industry would be promoted there. The editorial published in the Wednesday issue of ‘Saamana’ said, “Devendra Fadnavis has taken tough measures to discipline under the state’s rule and has started ‘cleaning of drains’ (of corruption). This is the second time in recent weeks when Shiv Sena (Ubatha) has praised Fadnavis.

Ajit Pawar in the role of Weight and Watch

Ajit Pawar is silent about the whole matter. However, he is fully coordinating with the BJP. Reacting to Shinde’s “light” comment, Deputy CM Ajit Pawar said it is not clear who the comment was targeted. As the story of Shinde vs Fadnavis is coming out, Ajit Pawar is busy doing his work and is closely monitoring the developments. So far, Pawar has been avoiding any statement or pointing that can worsen the situation.
