In a major military achievement, India successfully test-fired a long-range hypersonic missile off the coast of Odisha. India has now joined the group of select countries which have a weapon capable of striking at high speed and penetrating air defense systems. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh termed this test conducted under the country’s first long-range hypersonic mission as a historic moment. This test was conducted from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island off the coast of Odisha. This missile is completely indigenous.
