After the BJP’s victory in Delhi, there is a round of speculation about the new Chief Minister. Amidst all this, the newly elected BJP MLA and party’s national secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa shared a related update on Friday. He said that the new government in Delhi will start functioning from February 19-20. Sirsa said, the BJP Legislature Party meeting will be around 18-19 February as PM Modi is also returning from his foreign trip soon. The Rajouri Garden MLA, who is also considered a contender for the post of CM, dismissed the claims and described it as just speculation. Abhay Verma, MLA from Laxmi Nagar seat, added it and said that CM is holding elections in a meeting. Verma, who was in discussion as a potential candidate for the top post of Delhi government, said on Friday that there is no race for the post of Chief Minister of Delhi. The Chief Minister or Legislature Party leader in our party is elected in the meeting of MLAs.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) defeated Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the Delhi Assembly Elections 2025. The party won 48 seats and formed its government in the national capital after 27 years. Now everyone’s eyes are in the name of CM candidate. There are speculations that any decision in this regard will be taken after PM Modi returns from foreign tour. BJP MLA Mohan Singh Bisht said that the new Chief Minister of Delhi will be elected from 48 BJP MLAs.
