The case of YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, arrested for spying for Pakistan, has become a matter of discussion across the country. In a press conference, Hisar Superintendent of Police (SP) Shashank Kumar Sawan told the media that Pakistan’s intelligence agents are using Indian social media influencers to ‘pursue their nervous’.
Sawan told the media, ‘Modern wars are not fought only on the border. PIOs are trying to recruit some social media influencers, and they use it to pursue their narrator. We got input from central agencies, and we arrested Jyoti Malhotra. She had gone to Pakistan several times and once China. She was in touch with the PIO. We have taken him on 5 days police remand.

The police officer also revealed that Jyoti Malhotra was allegedly in touch with Pakistani intelligence agents, which had increased after India’s operation vermilion. He said, ‘We are analyzing his financial statements. During the struggle (Indo-Pak), she was in touch with the PIO. The details of his visit reflecting his total income. They were developing her (Jyoti Malhotra) as a property. She was in touch with other YouTube influential people, and they were also in touch with PIO. She used to go to Pakistan on sponsored trips. She was in Pakistan before the Pahalgam attack, and if there is any connection, the investigation is on to establish it.
