Jharkhand Assembly elections will be held in two phases. Voting is to be held on all 81 assembly seats of Jharkhand on November 13 and 20 and the election results will be released on November 23. The high profile assembly seat of the state is Bhavnathpur. Elections are to be held in Bhavnathpur in the first phase i.e. on 13th November. Bhavnathpur is one of the two assembly constituencies in Garhwa district of Jharkhand. It is part of Palamu Lok Sabha constituency. Bharatiya Janata Party has once again fielded Bhanu Pratap Shahi from this seat.

In such a situation, once again i.e. in the 2024 elections, Bhanu Pratap Shahi has contested the elections for the fourth time to register victory from here.

Then soon after the formation of a separate state of Jharkhand, Ramchandra Kesari got a chance to become a minister in the Babulal Marandi Marandi government. In the year 2005, Bhanu Pratap Shahi won the election by contesting on Forward Block ticket and became MLA for the first time. After this, in the year 2009, Congress candidate Anant Pratap Dev became MLA. In the year 2019, Bhanu Pratap Shahi won on BJP ticket and made BJP successful from this seat for the first time.
