Will Jacques had kept his base price at Rs 2 crore and Mumbai Indians made the first bid on him. Punjab Kings were ready to spend Rs 5 crore on Jacques but Mumbai had made up their mind. Ultimately, Mumbai included this effective all-rounder from England in their squad by making a bid of Rs 5.25 crore.
RCB had the RTM card left and when the RCB management was asked about matching the bid of Rs 5.25 crore, they shook their head in a clear no. Especially RCB fans are unhappy with this decision. When Jacques was sold to Mumbai Indians, Akash Ambani got up from his chair and went to shake hands with the RCB management. Akash knew that Will Jacques was a match-changer who had scored 230 runs including one century and one fifty in 8 matches played in IPL 2024. Last season his strike rate was more than 175.
