Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said on Monday that he discussed several issues including Jammu and Kashmir state status restoration, security situation and governance during the meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He met the Home Minister in Parliament today. Talking to reporters after meeting Home Minister Omar Abdullah, he said that he said that he along with Home Minister Amit Shah, the status of Jammu and Kashmir, matters related to governance, security situation and the upcoming budget of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to be held on March 3 Discussed the session in detail.

This was Omar Abdullah’s third meeting with Amit Shah after becoming the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. When asked about India Block Unity, Omar Abdullah said that he had nothing to say about it. He said that if India block calls a meeting in future, it will discuss issues there. If I say something in the media, then my words are presented. So if I want to discuss anything, then I will discuss this in the meeting of India Block.

Last week, the Home Minister chaired a security review meeting at his residence in New Delhi. The meeting attended the meeting including Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and top security and civilian officials. Earlier, the Center has allocated Rs 41,000.07 crore to Jammu and Kashmir in the Union Budget of 2025-26, which is almost equal to the revised estimate of FY 2024-25. Additionally, the Jammu and Kashmir Police will get Rs 9,325.73 crore. In the year 2024-25, a provision of Rs 8,665.94 crore was made for the police. The Jammu and Kashmir Police is directly controlled by the Union Home Ministry after the cancellation of Article 370 and the reorganization of the erstwhile state.
