A court in Ballia district convicted a woman and her lover and sentenced them to life imprisonment in a two-and-a-half-year-old case of murdering their eight-year-old daughter and then disappearing her body.

The prosecution gave this information on Sunday. Joint director in-charge of the prosecution department, P.N. Swamy told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ on Sunday that after completing the hearing of the case, the court of District Judge Amit Pal Singh on Saturday convicted the accused Bindu and her lover Lala Rajbhar and sentenced them to life imprisonment and 15-15 years imprisonment. Imposed a fine of thousand rupees.

Giving details of the incident, Swami said that Bindu of Pavpatti village of Ghazipur district was married to Nagendra, a resident of Chakra village of Mau district and they both had two children Shivangi (eight) and Ayush (three).

Bindu’s brother Bablu Rajbhar had told Rasra police station on June 2, 2022 that he had left Bindu and her two children in Rasra on May 11, 2022 and Bindu had said that she would go to her in-laws’ house.

The prosecution said that, however, instead of going to her in-laws house, Bindu went to the cousin sister’s house of her lover Narendra alias Lala Rajbhar, at Katewa in Rasra police station area. After this, Bindu and her lover hatched a criminal conspiracy and murdered Shivangi and made the body disappear.

According to the prosecution, on the basis of Bablu Rajbhar’s complaint, a case was registered against Bindu and Lala under sections of the Indian Penal Code on charges of murder, conspiracy and destruction of evidence.

After investigation, the police filed a charge sheet in the court against Bindu and Lala. According to Swamy, joint director in-charge of the prosecution department, the court completed the hearing and pronounced the sentence in the case on Saturday.
