According to data released by the Immigration Bureau, in the first quarter of 2025, more than 172,000 Pakistanis looked for employment abroad, which is a notable increase. The report said that from January to March, at least 172,144 persons left the country in search of better job prospects abroad. Saudi Arabia was the leading destination for Pakistani workers, where the number of 121,190 was the largest number of job seekers. Oman finished second, where 8,331 Pakistanis searched for jobs, while the United Arab Emirates accepted 6,891, as The News International reported.

Qatar also emerged as a favorite option, where 12,989 Pakistanis got employment, and 939 Pakistani workers increased in Bahrain. According to a report by The News International, other important destinations include the United Kingdom (1,454), Turki (870), Greece (815), Malaysia (775), China (592), Azerbaijan (350), Germany (264), United States (264), United States (257), Italy (109) and Japan (108). In a professional division for those who get jobs abroad, 99,139 persons were classified as general workers. According to the highlight by The News International, 38,274 drivers, 1,859 masons, 2,130 electricians, 1,689 cooks, 3,474 technicians and 1,058 welders were welder.

Professionals also had enough stay, with 849 doctors and 1,479 engineers taking advantage of foreign opportunities. Additionally, 390 nurses and 436 teachers were among those who got jobs in foreign countries during the first quarter of the year. Earlier, data from the European Union’s Asylum Agency (EUAA) showed that around 28,000 Pakistani nationals had applied for international protection in the European Union+ between October 2023 and October 2024.
