How many Indian youth are trapped in Russia and are serving in the army there and what steps have been taken by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Russia to bring them back.
There are still 18 Indian citizens in the Russian armed forces, 16 of whom are reported missing by the Russian side. The government gave this information in Parliament on Thursday. While sharing information about the state-wise residence of 18 Indians in a written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh said that nine of them from Uttar Pradesh, two from Punjab and Haryana and one each from Chandigarh, Maharashtra, Kerala , Are from Bihar and Jammu and Kashmir.
In response to another question, Singh said that there are reports of losing their lives in the ongoing struggle of 12 Indian citizens involved in the Russian armed forces. The government was asked how many Indians are trapped in Russia and serving in the army there and what steps have been taken by the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Russia to bring them back. He said, according to the available information, 18 Indian citizens are in the Russian armed forces, out of which 16 persons have been reported to be reported by the Russian side.
