Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Saturday criticized Turkey’s support to Pakistan and urged Ankara to reconsider his stance. He also said that the Muslim population in India is more than Pakistan. The AIMIM chief warned Turkey against Pakistan’s blind support and urged him to recognize his deep historical relations with India before taking any decision.
Owaisi said Turkey should reconsider its stance to support Pakistan and we should also remind Turkey that there is a bank named Isbank, where the first depositors were included in India, such as Hyderabad state and Rampur state. There are many historical relations with India and you should know that by 1990, Turkish language was taught in Ladakh region. Asaduddin Owaisi said that India has more Muslims than Pakistan and reminded Turkey that the pilgrims of northern Turkey used to come to Mumbai for Hajj via Ladakh.
Asaduddin Owaisi said that by 1920, the people of Northern Türkiye used to come to Ladakh and then go to Mumbai to perform Haj. We should constantly remind Turkey that 220 million respectable Muslims live in India. This complete pretense of Pakistan being a Muslim country is misleading. India has more Muslims than Pakistan and Pakistan has nothing to do with Islam. After Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam attacks, there are voices in India to boycott Turkey due to Pakistan’s support. As a result, the trips have been canceled, academic cooperation has stopped and the license of Celebi Aviation has been suspended.
