Bundelkhand Expressway will become Uttar Pradesh’s first solar expressway: Industrial Development Minister

Prayagraj. Preparations have begun to make the Bundelkhand Expressway of Uttar Pradesh the first ‘Solar Expressway’ of the state. The state’s Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta Nandi held a meeting with departmental officials in this regard at the camp office in Lucknow on Friday. According to the press release issued by the minister’s media in-charge Balaji, a decision was taken in Friday’s meeting to organize a seminar with all the stakeholders and solar energy experts in Lucknow on August 9 regarding the construction of the Solar Expressway.

According to the release, Bundelkhand Expressway will not only protect the environment but will also generate electricity. More than 25 thousand plants will be planted on both sides of the expressway for environmental protection. Along with this, the state’s longest solar park will also be developed on 1700 hectares of land which will produce 450 MW of energy. According to the release, a solar park will be developed in 15-20 meter width on 1700 hectares of land located between the main carriageway and service road of the 296 km long Bundelkhand Expressway from Etawah to Chitrakoot.

For this, companies will be allotted land on lease for 25 years. According to the release, along with the Solar Expressway, the progress of the construction of Ganga Expressway was also discussed in the meeting. It was decided to hold a review meeting in Prayagraj on August 10 to complete the construction of Ganga Expressway and check the quality of the work before the Maha Kumbh Mela to be held in Prayagraj next year. Ganga Expressway is being constructed between Meerut and Prayagraj.
