pm modi post on one nation one election participation in democracy will increase

Taking a step towards holding simultaneous elections for the Lok Sabha and state assemblies, the Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved the proposal for one nation one election. PM Modi has tweeted about this. In his post, Modi wrote that the Cabinet has accepted the recommendations of the high-level committee on simultaneous elections. I congratulate our former President Shri Ram Nath Kovind ji for leading this effort and consulting a wide range of stakeholders.

The Prime Minister clearly stated that this is an important step towards making our democracy even more vibrant and participatory. Home Minister Amit Shah wrote that under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, India is witnessing transformational reforms. Today, in this direction, with the acceptance of the recommendations of the High Level Committee on One Nation, One Election by the Union Cabinet, India is taking a big step towards historic election reforms.

He said that this reflects Modiji’s strong will to strengthen our democracy through clean and financially efficient elections and to accelerate economic development through more productive allocation of resources. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that I am very happy today. The Union Cabinet has taken a big decision in the interest of the country today. I appeal to all political parties not to do politics in this and keep national interest above politics.

BJP President JP Nadda has posted on X. He wrote that the Union Cabinet chaired by Narendra Modi has accepted the recommendations of the high-level committee on the ‘One Nation One Election’ initiative. Nadda further wrote that the current system of holding elections at different times in the states hinders development efforts and puts a burden on the national treasury. Adopting “One Nation, One Election” will help reduce election-related expenditure and financial burden on the government. He wrote that the aim of this historic decision is to streamline the electoral process and ensure better governance. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that under the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi, today Indian democracy has taken a historic step towards one nation-one election.
