Team India’s start in the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 was not as per expectations. India had to face defeat by 58 runs against New Zealand in its first match of the tournament. Indian women’s cricket team fielding coach Munish Bali expressed regret over the defeat but also praised the players who fielded brilliantly in the match. Whereas Jemimah Rodrigues was awarded the Fielder of the Match award in dressing form.

After this, Munish requested captain Harmanpreet Kaur to give him the best fielder medal. After giving the medal to Jemima, Harmanpreet placed her hand on her head and then hugged her. Munish said that, just like we bounced back in fielding, we will do the same in the next match. All the best.
At present, in the match, the Indian team was reduced to 102 runs in 19 overs while chasing the target of 161 runs. No Indian player could touch the figure of 20. Harmanpreet said after the match that we did not play our best cricket. Moving forward we know that every match is important. He said that we have chased the target of 160-170 runs many times. We were hoping to make it. We knew someone had to bat, but we kept losing wickets.
