Elections are going to be held in Maharashtra on 20th November and the results of the elections will be declared on 23rd November. Meanwhile, from Mumbai’s Worli Assembly constituency, Rajya Sabha member Milind Deora, supported by the ruling Shiv Sena, filed his nomination on Tuesday and will face the outgoing Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aditya Thackeray. Devra, a former Congress leader and Union minister of state, had joined Shiv Sena ahead of the Lok Sabha elections this year and was later elected to the Rajya Sabha.
Despite having a six-year tenure in the Rajya Sabha, Devra has been fielded against Aditya Thackeray, son of former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. Since his nomination, the contest in Worli has become quite exciting. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Shaina NC, who has joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, has also filed her nomination against Congress MLA Amin Patel for the Mumbadevi assembly seat in Mumbai.
