UP CM also invites the public to participate in the historic Deepotsav in Ayodhya

On the occasion of Deepotsav, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday invited everyone to participate in the grand celebration and witness the world record of lighting lamps. The Uttar Pradesh government is preparing to create a Guinness World Record by lighting more than 25 lakh lamps in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Deepotsav.
 
Another record will be attempted today during the Mahotsav Aarti, when more than 1,100 people will perform the largest Aarti at Saryu Ghat together. The CM said on his social media handle that the occasion will be ‘historic’.
 
The post reads, “This festival of lights is historic. After a long wait of 500 years, our beloved Shri Ramlala has been seated in his abode. After 500 years, the grand and divine temple of Shri Ramlala to be built on his sacred birthplace in Dharmadhara Ayodhyadham. Thousands of lamps will be lit.”
 
Deepotsav is a five-day festival celebrated to commemorate the return of Lord Rama to Ayodhya after 14 years of exile. The event reflects the cultural and spiritual importance of Ayodhya, attracting millions of devotees and tourists. More than 30 thousand volunteers will help in the attempt to create a world record at 55 ghats of Ayodhya. Naya Ghat, Purana Ghat, Bhajan Sandhya and other areas will witness this grand event.
 
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat and several other ministers are expected to attend the event today. A 30-member team from Guinness Book of World Records reached here on Tuesday to take stock of the preparations for the Deepotsav.
 
Guinness Book of World Records team in-charge Nischal Barot told ANI, “This is the seventh Deepotsav but this time it is a little special because it is the first Deepotsav after the construction of Ram Mandir. This time there are two Guinness Book of Records, the first one is That record breaking 1100 people will perform Saryu Aarti and the second is to light 25 lakh lamps.” Apart from this, a Shobha Yatra will also be taken out today. Artists from about 6 countries and 16 Indian states will participate in this journey and there will be 18 tableaux.
 
It is noteworthy that the government has also promoted the virtual initiative ‘Ek Diya Ram Ke Naam’ launched through the Divya Ayodhya App. Recent years have seen significant changes with increased tourism and development. The excitement with local businesses is palpable as visitors flock to town for the festivities.
