Arghya was offered to the setting sun on the third day today under the Chhath festival in different parts of the country. During this period, a spectacular view was seen on the ghats in different parts. Chhath Puja was celebrated today in all the big cities of the country including Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhagalpur, Patna, Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Lucknow, Delhi, Punjab, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai. This four-day long festival will end tomorrow with the offering of the rising sun. Many big leaders including the President and Prime Minister had given good wishes to the countrymen regarding Chhath Puja.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday greeted the countrymen on the occasion of Chhath festival and wished for everyone’s happiness and prosperity. He said in a post on ‘X’, “My best wishes to all of you on the holy occasion of Sandhya Arghya of Chhath. May this great festival, a symbol of simplicity, restraint, determination and dedication, bring happiness, prosperity and good fortune in everyone’s life. Jai Chhathi Maiya!” This festival starts on Shashthi Tithi of Kartik Shukla Paksha and six days after Diwali.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan performed Chhath Puja in Sambalpur. BJP MP Manoj Tiwari and his family members performing Chhath Puja rituals at his residence in Delhi. Members of the Indian-American community in the US state of Virginia gathered with their friends and family to celebrate Chhath Puja. The four-day festival began on November 5 with the Nahay Khay ritual. On the second day, Wednesday, the fasting people performed ‘Kharna’.
On the third day of Chhath Puja in Delhi, Aam Aadmi Party’s national convenor Arvind Kejriwal performed Chhath Puja rituals. He said that Chhathi Maiya should give lots of happiness and blessings. I have just come to my assembly to worship Chhathi Maiya. I worshiped with everyone. Delhi government has organized Chhath Puja at more than 1000 places in Delhi. Before our government was formed, it was organized at 200-250 places. But for the convenience of the public, we have organized programs at many places in Delhi and I am very happy.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj said that hearty wishes to everyone on Chhath festival. May Chhathi Maiya’s blessings be upon all of you, may your life be full of happiness, peace and prosperity, this is my wish. Delhi CM Atishi said that I want to wish all the Purvanchali brothers and sisters and all the residents of Delhi a very happy Chhath Puja. Today the festival of Chhath is being celebrated with great pomp in Delhi. Chhath Ghats have been built in every corner of Delhi by the Delhi Government. Today I have prayed to Chhathi Maiya and Lord Bhaskar for the prosperity and good health of all the people of Delhi. Delhi Government builds such Chhath Ghats in all parts of Delhi so that our Purvanchali brothers and sisters never feel that they are away from their home.
