Samrat Chaudhary’s allegation, from Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi, Congress was anti-reservation, strangulated the Constitution.

Patna. Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary said that from Pandit Nehru to Rajiv Gandhi, Congress always opposed reservation, whereas from Jan Sangh to BJP, we always supported reservation. He said that the result of our long struggle is that Dalits, tribals, OBC, EBC, women and even the poor from the upper caste community have got reservation. No class is deprived of reservation today. Shri Choudhary honored the winners of the quiz contest on the Constitution in a program organized by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM-Study Cell) at Gandhi Ghat in Patna under ‘Samvidhan Gaurav Abhiyan’.

Choudhary said that when the Constitution was being implemented in 1950, the country’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru was opposing giving reservation to tribals and Dalits. He said that in Bihar, when Karpoori Thakur’s government gave reservation to the backward class, Kailashpati Mishra of Jan Sangh, who was part of the government, supported it, while Congress kept opposing it. Choudhary said that even in 1989, when Prime Minister VP Singh implemented the recommendations of the Mandal Commission and gave reservation to the backward classes, the Congress was opposing it. He said that in 2019, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also gave 10 percent reservation to the general category poor and he also gave constitutional status to the Backward Classes Commission.
Deputy Chief Minister Choudhary said that the Congress itself, which pretended to save the Constitution, did not allow the Constitution to be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, tampered with the Preamble of the Constitution, added the word ‘secular’, strangulated the Constitution by imposing emergency, but the basic spirit of the Constitution remained intact. Never respected. He said that Prime Minister Modi implemented the Constitution in Jammu and Kashmir by removing Article 370 on August 5, 2019 and threw the Congress policy of two symbols, two constitutions and two heads in one country into the dustbin.
