The Pakistan Cricket Board has denied rumors that the cricketer -turned -politician Imran Khan’s name has been removed from a enclosure in the newly reinstated Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Imran Khan is in jail on corruption charges. There were rumors that due to the current political situation, PCB removed the name of the 1992 World Cup winning former captain from a stadium enclosure. A PCB official said without naming anyone that the name of any end of the stadium has not been changed and no name has been removed. All ends are the same names.

Three years ago, 72 -year -old Imran has been fighting several cases after being ousted from power in the parliamentary no -confidence motion. In August 2023, he was sentenced to three years in jail in another corruption case. Due to which he was dropped from the general elections to be held after months. Although Imran’s candidates contested as independents and won the most seats, they remained less by the necessary majority to form the government.

Imran Khan’s fence in the stadium since 1992, which is one of the VIP stands, is permanently present. The former Prime Minister has strongly denied allegations of corruption and said that he is a victim of political vengeance. He is currently lodged in stuck jail in Punjab province. But in a corruption case recently, a judge found him and his wife Bushra Bibi guilty and sentenced him to 14 and 7 years in jail respectively.
