Bangladesh captain Najmul Hussain Shanto warned the rival teams in the ICC Champions Trophy, saying that his team is going to think in the upcoming tournament that they can give a big blow. He can win his first event. However, this team of Asia won only two matches in the ICC Cricket World Cup to be held in India in 2023.
In March last year, after defeating Sri Lanka 2–1 on domestic soil, it has won only one bilateral ODI series. Despite this, Najmul Hussain Shanto feels that confidence in Bangladesh team is increasing. He is confident that his team can surprise everyone in the eight teams tournaments to be held in Pakistan and UAE from February 19.
Bangladesh is placed in Group A in the Champions Trophy 2025. Bangladesh will start its campaign in the Champions Trophy with a match against India on 20 February. India will also have the first match in the tournament. Thereafter, in Rawalpindi, will play matches against New Zealand on 24 February and Pakistan on 27 February.
Najmul Hussain Shanto told the ICC that, we are going to become champions in the Champions Trophy. All eight teams are entitled to become champions in this tournament. They are all the best teams. I believe that our team has capacity. Will not feel any additional pressure. Everyone really wants and believes in their abilities.
Shanto said that, we do not know what Allah has written in our luck. We are working hard and performing our best. I am confident that we can achieve our goal. There is no place for former captain Shakib Al Hasan in Bangladesh team. Shanto believes that 15 of his players are balanced with good mixture of young and experienced players.
