The Chief Minister handed over appointment letters to 20 newly appointed panchayat secretaries in a program organized at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) in Jammu. Of these, 10 have been appointed in Jammu and 10 in Kashmir division.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday distributed appointment letters to the newly appointed Panchayat Secretaries in the Rural Development Department and appealed to them to ensure that government funds are properly utilized.

Congratulating the newly appointed people, Abdullah referred him to his important role in strengthening the trust between the government and the people. The Chief Minister said, “The appointment process was completely transparent, although it also had challenges. Despite the difficulties, we ensured that the process was impartially concluded. ”Speaking about the importance of panchayat elections, the Chief Minister pointed to the high-level participation of the people in the local regime.
