After the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Delhi Assembly elections, the cleaning of the Yamuna river has started from today. On Sunday, cleaning of Yamuna River was started with machines such as Trash Schimmer, Week Harvester and Drease Utility Craft. Let me tell you, PM Modi had said that after winning the Delhi elections, BJP will first clean the Yamuna river.

Giving information about the cleaning of the Yamuna river, the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi said, ‘The work of cleaning the Muni river has already started. Garbage extract machines, weed -removal machines and drag utility crafts have started a cleanliness drive in the river from today. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena met Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary (I&FC) yesterday and asked him to start work immediately.

The Lieutenant Governor’s Office of Delhi further stated that they have made a four-dimensional strategy to deal with the issue. He said that in the first strategy, garbage, garbage and silt in the stream of Yamuna river will be removed. In the second strategy, a cleanliness drive will be launched in Najafgarh drain, complementary drain and all other major drains. In the third strategy, the existing STP will be monitored daily in terms of capacity and output. In the fourth strategy, a time -bound plan will be made and commissioned in the context of the construction of new STP/DSTP etc. to meet the actual shortage of about 400 MGD sewer treatment.

The office said that emphasis is being laid on coordination between various agencies and departments to fulfill this ambitious plan. He said, ‘The implementation of this ambitious scheme, which aims to clean the river in about 3 years, will require uninterrupted coordination between various agencies and departments, including DJB, I&FC, MCD, Environment Department, PWD and DDA . The above mentioned works will be monitored at the highest level on a weekly basis. In addition, the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has also made a detailed plan in this regard. Industrial units in the city have been instructed to keep a strict monitoring on the discharge of unhappy waste in the drains.
