Ramakant Yadav, SHO of Unj police station, said that the Scorpio car passing on the Jangiganj overbridge in Uanj police station area of the district on National Highway No. 19 on Friday afternoon trampled the scooty riders and then the driver ran away with the vehicle.
Yadav said that Sachin Passi (25) and his grandfather Sitaram Pasi (70), residents of Handia police station area of Prayagraj district, died on the spot in this accident, while Munna Tiwari (58) of the same village was injured. The injured Tiwari was referred to the Trauma Center in Varanasi from the hospital here.
Yadav said that the three were going to Kashi Vishwanath riding on a scooty, but on the Jangiganj over bridge, the Scorpio car first hit Scooty from behind, causing the three to fall on the road, after which the car riders ran away and fled the three. He told that further action is being taken by sending both the bodies for postmortem. CCTV footage is being searched to search for the car.
