Former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP MLA Atishi on Saturday wrote a letter to the new Chief Minister of Delhi and sought time to meet the AAP Legislature Party. In his letter to the CM, Atishi has asked the women of Delhi to meet him to discuss financial assistance of Rs 2,500 per month, which was promised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the election campaign. He said that Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Prime Minister of the country Narendra Modi had promised Delhi mothers and sisters at a rally held in Delhi on 31 January 2025 during the election campaign that for them in the first cabinet meeting after the formation of BJP government. A plan of Rs 2500 per month will be passed. He had said- this is a guarantee of Modi.
Atishi further said that despite the promise, the decision was not taken in the first cabinet meeting of the newly formed Delhi government on 20 February. He said, “Delhi’s mothers and sisters believed the guarantee given by PM Modi and now they are feeling cheated.” He also said that the Aam Aadmi Party legislative party wants to meet you on 23 February 2025 tomorrow. I request you on behalf of millions of women of Delhi to take some time from your schedule and give us a chance to meet you so that we can put your point in front of you to take concrete action on this scheme.
Earlier, Atishi raised the question on Friday as to why the Delhi government did not approve the plan to give honorarium of Rs 2,500 to the women of the city in its first cabinet meeting. Former Delhi Chief Minister Atishi accused the newly formed BJP government of “not fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s promise of providing financial assistance to women under Mahila Samriddhi Yojana”. Atishi said in a press conference that before the Delhi elections, Modi and BJP national president JP Nadda had assured that the scheme would be approved in the first cabinet meeting and 2,500 in every woman’s bank account by 8 March by 8 March. The money will come.
