Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Wednesday that the Trans-Arunachal highway connecting all 26 district headquarters of the state is close to completion. Union Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs Minister Reijiju was addressing a program on the occasion of Nyokum Yullo, festival of Nyeshi tribe at Bosimla in Kamle district. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was also present in the program.
Rijiju said, “The Trans-Arunachal highway, which is close to completion, will connect all the district headquarters of the state uninterrupted, which will promote development.” Underlining the Center’s commitment to Arunachal Pradesh, the minister said that the government has approved the marginal highway project of Rs 42,000 crore which is a historic initiative and the first initiative in India.
Rijiju said last week that the Arunachal Frontier Highway, which will connect 12 districts on the Indo-China border, would prove to be quite useful for the border areas of the North Eastern state. He credited this ambitious project to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Reijiju said that history will remember Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar’s visit to Bosimla, located on the banks of the national highway. He said, “It is a matter of great pride for the people of Arunachal Pradesh to reach Bosimla of the country’s second citizen (Vice President). It is an honor for us to be the Vice President while celebrating Nyokum Yullo. ”The minister said that the continuous attention of the Center on the state will promote contact, progress and cultural identity at the national level.
