Prime Minister Narendra Modi was honored with the country’s highest civilian honor by Mauritius President Dharam Gokhul on Wednesday during a two -day visit to Mauritius. Earlier in the day he met former Prime Minister of Mauritius Pravind Kumar Jagannath. There was a ‘amazing’ discussion between the two on increasing India-Mauritius cooperation in various fields. In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi said that a good meeting was held with former Prime Minister of Mauritius Shri Pravind Kumar Jagannath. Prime Minister Modi also met Mauritius MP and Leader of Opposition Georges Pierre Leszongard. He made useful discussions on further strengthening the India-Mauritius friendship.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi greeted the people of Mauritius on his National Day and said that he was eager to be a part of the ceremony. Prime Minister Modi also shared the main things about his visit so far, from the grand reception to his meeting with Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Chandra Ramgulam. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also held a meeting with his Mauritius counterpart Naveen Chandra Ramgulam, where he reviewed bilateral relations and found new ways to “take special relations to even more heights”.

During the meeting, PM Modi said that India is proud to be a “valuable and reliable development partner” for Mauritius and the two countries will work together to promote the interests of the global South. PM Modi also participated in a dinner organized by Mauritius Prime Minister Naveen Ramgulam. In his speech at the banquet, PM Modi said that there is no limit to relations between the two countries, and they will work together for the peace and security of the region along with the people of both countries.
