Mumbai Police issued notice to Kamra in a comment case against Shinde

The Mumbai Police has issued a notice to ‘Stand-up comedian’ Kunal Kamra in the case of allegedly making derogatory remarks against Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Officials gave this information on Tuesday.

An official in the case said that Kamra has been asked to appear before the Khar police here in connection with the case registered against him. The officer said without giving detailed information, “We have issued an initial notice to Kamra. The investigation of the case has started against him. ”

Although the official did not disclose when Kamra, accused of making derogatory remarks against Shinde, was summoned, sources said that the comedian had sought a week’s time to appear before the police.

Kamra has created a big political storm in Maharashtra by sarcasm on the political career of Shiv Sena leader Shinde in her show. ‘Stand-up comedian’ Kunal Kamra has said that he will not apologize for his controversial comments about Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Along with this, he criticized the vandalism at the place in Mumbai, where the ‘Comedy Show’ was recorded. Shiv Sena activists allegedly vandalized the ‘Habitat Comedy Club’ in Khar area in Mumbai on Sunday, where Kamra’s program was shot.

In this program, he sarcasted Shinde through the word “traitor”. A large number of Shiv Sena workers gathered outside the ‘Hotel Unicontinental’ on Sunday night where the concerned club is located. He vandalized the club and hotel premises.

‘Habitat Club’ is the same place where the dispute ‘India’s Got Latant’ was shot. Referring to Shinde’s rebellion against the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in 2022, Kamra sang a revised version of a song from the film ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’.

Based on the complaint of Shiv Sena MLA Murji Patel, Khar police have registered an FIR against Kamra for allegedly making derogatory remarks against Shinde. Police have also registered a case against 40 Shiv Sena -led Shiv Sena workers to vandalize the site of the comedian’s show.
