Dhoni has been a part of Chennai from the first session of IPL in 2008.

MS Dhoni said in podcast that, not yet I am playing IPL. I have kept it quite simple, I take it every time like a year. I am 43 and when the IPL 2025 is over, I will be 44. So I will have 10 months after that I will play or not. But I am not deciding this, it decides my body. So we will see one year after that.
There is a lot of discussion about Dhoni’s future in IPL and the game fans did not like to land ninth against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Dhoni’s recent batting performance was very criticized. Especially today when Dhoni came to the crease while chasing the target of 184 runs against Delhi Capitals, the team needed 110 runs in 9 overs.
