Former Chennai Super Kings captain and wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni’s retirement is continuously discussing. But now Dhoni himself has rejected the rumors about his retirement in a podcast. Paan Singh and Devika Devi, veteran MS Dhoni’s parents, were present during the match against Delhi Capitals on Saturday, which made many felt that Dhoni had probably played his last match in Chepock. Dhoni has been a part of Chennai from the first session of IPL in 2008.
In fact, in A Podcast with Raj Shamani, Dhoni has put his side on rumors of retirement. He has also confirmed that he is not taking retirement this season.
MS Dhoni said in podcast that, not yet I am playing IPL. I have kept it quite simple, I take it every time like a year. I am 43 and when the IPL 2025 is over, I will be 44. So I will have 10 months after that I will play or not. But I am not deciding this, it decides my body. So we will see one year after that.
There is a lot of discussion about Dhoni’s future in IPL and the game fans did not like to land ninth against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Dhoni’s recent batting performance was very criticized. Especially today when Dhoni came to the crease while chasing the target of 184 runs against Delhi Capitals, the team needed 110 runs in 9 overs.
However, his partnership with Vijay Shankar scored only 84 runs off 56 balls. Shankar scored an unbeaten innings of 69 runs off 54 balls, while Dhoni scored 30 runs off 26 balls with a strike rate of just 115.38, which was criticized.
The next match of the five -time IPL champion team will be against Punjab Kings in Chandigarh on April 8, followed by a domestic match against KKR on 11 April and another match against Lucknow on 14 April. His much -awaited match against Mumbai Indians will be out of the house on 20 April.
