A 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Pakistan at around 1 pm on Saturday, whose shocks were also felt in Jammu and Kashmir. Earthquake tremors were felt in many parts of the valley, but there is no immediate news of anyone’s casualties or loss of property. The earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 km, with a coordinator of 33.63 degrees north latitude and 72.46 degrees east longitude. According to the National Earthquake Science Center (NCS), the recent earthquake came to a shallow depth of 10 km, which has later increased the possibility of shaking.

Earthquake tremors were felt in some parts of Pakistan on Saturday. The intensity of the earthquake on the Richter scale was measured 5.5. According to Pakistan’s National Earthquaker Monitoring Center (NSMC), earthquake tremors were felt in the country at around 12:31 pm. The epicenter of the earthquake was 12 km below the land, 60 km north-west of Rawalpindi. The earthquake was felt in stuck, Chakwal and Mianwali districts of Punjab and surrounding areas. The tremors of the earthquake were also felt in the Shabakadar of Peshawar, Mardan, Mohammed and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. There are often earthquakes of different intensity in Pakistan. The most deadly earthquake occurred in 2005, killing more than 74,000 people.

The Central Meteorological Administration has measured the intensity of the earthquake 5.8. The earthquake continued to vibrate in buildings for a few seconds in Taipei. According to the US Geological Survey, the 5-magnitude earthquake was about 21 km in the south-south east of Yilan on the northeast coast and was 69 km from the Earth’s surface. The Taiwan Pacific falls in the ‘Ring of Fire’ region on the ocean. The most earthquakes in the world occur in this region.
