Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said on Sunday that the opposition ‘India’ alliance will continue in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister attacked the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and alleged that it was trying to grab land like a mafia through the Waqf (Amendment) Act.
Addressing the press conference, Yadav said that in the 2027 assembly elections, the PDA (Backward, Dalit and Minority) will overthrow the BJP from the state. When he was asked about the ‘India’ alliance, he reiterated, ‘India’ alliance (current) and will remain.
He said, BJP has brought Waqf Amendment Act so that it can take away the land. Wherever they see the land, they capture it. He called BJP a land mafia party.
Yadav accused the ruling party of snatching people’s money and reducing the right to reservation through demonetisation and GST (Goods and Services Tax). Yadav also criticized the functioning of the BJP regarding organizing Mahakumbh in Prayagraj and promised that if his party comes to power, mismanagement would be investigated.
The SP chief claimed that the government gave wrong figures about the number and financial benefits of casualties during the incident, and alleged that drones and CCTV surveillance failed during the stampede in January.
Yadav claimed, “At the time when the drone and CCTV were most needed (at the time of stampede), they were either closed or closed.
On the question asked about the statement of SP MP Ramji Lal Suman on Rana Sanga, he said, “The history which is low or low, the history that stops our progress, that history should be allowed to remain history.”
The SP chief converted the suggestions made by himself on the social media platform ‘X’ about Prayagraj Mahakumbh 2025 into a booklet and made it available to journalists. He also provided a report of the study conducted by Howard University regarding Prayagraj Kumbh Mela in 2013. Akhilesh Yadav came to Prayagraj to attend the wedding ceremony of the daughter of the party’s state president Shyam Lal Pal.
