When was TRF formed?
TRF is the mask organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba. It was built in 2019 after Article 370 was removed. It previously worked as an online unit, but soon converted itself into a ground group. Its purpose was to carry out terrorist incidents in India. TRF is the biggest terrorist threat in Jammu and Kashmir today. The Government of India declared TRF as a terrorist organization in 2023. Terrorists Sajid Jatt, Sajjad Gul and Salim Rahmani are prominent in this front, they are all associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba. Since its inception, the TRF Valley, considered to be the organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET), has been involved in several terrorist attacks targeted by tourists, minority Kashmiri pundits and especially migrant laborers.

How does TRF operate
TRF conspires to spoil social harmony by targeting Kashmiri Pandits, Hindus, Sikhs, employees and migrant laborers. Like traditional terrorist organizations, TRF does not have any suicide attacker. TRF designed a new cadre of youth, which are not on the radar of security forces, making it difficult to detect them. Very few photos of cadres are available and they choose easy targets through the ground network. The youth conduct psychological operations on social media to instigate the youth to join terrorist organizations. TRF used body cameras such as Gropo to shoot attacks on the army.

30 October 2020: BJP workers killed in Kulgam.
26 November 2020: Attack on 2 Rashtriya Rifles of Army in Srinagar.
26 February 2023: Kashmiri Pandit Sanjay Sharma killed in Pulwama.
20 October 2024: Terrorist attack in Ganderbal. In this, a doctor and 6 migrant workers were killed.
