Addressing a press conference, Khan said that Sufi Muslims strongly support the amended law passed by Parliament, and argue that the previous provisions were misused by some organizations and individuals to grab the land of Waqf for selfish purposes and ignored the welfare of common Muslims. He alleged that some people who were earlier associated with radical organizations such as students Islamic Movement of India and Popular Front of India have now become a spokesperson of AIMPLB.

The National President of the Sufi Islamic Board Mansoor Khan said on Monday that the SIB will move to the Supreme Court in favor of the Waqf Act and accused the leaders of the Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and All India Muslim Personal Law Board of misleading Muslims over its provisions.

Khan alleged that the accused of grabbing Waqf’s property are now encouraging Muslims to protest against the Waqf Amendment Act. The leaders of AIMPLB and Juh are misleading Muslims. Whenever their interests are in danger, they mobilize the public by falsely claiming that Sharia is in danger. Khan, who came with Khalid Hussain Naqvi, the national president of the Indian Sufi Saint Sangathan, urged the Muslim youth not to be misled by those who opposed the Waqf Act amendments. Khan reiterated without naming anyone that there are people accused of misuse of Waqf properties behind the protests against the amendment. He said that the Sufi Islamic Board will soon file an affidavit in the Supreme Court supporting the Waqf Amendment Act passed by Parliament.

Remarkably organizations like AIMPLB have challenged the constitutional validity of the new Act. Khan also demanded legal action against those individuals and organizations who misused Waqf properties and embezzled money. He demanded to investigate whether such money was used for anti -national activities.
