Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu expressed deep grief over the death of Agniveer Naveen Kumar in an unfortunate incident of landslide in Kargil area of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. He was from Thural area of Soluh assembly constituency in Kangra district. The Chief Minister prayed to God to give the peace of the departed soul and the mourning of the bereaved families to endure this sorrow. He said that I pray to God to give the departed soul a place in my shrines and to provide patience and strength to the bereaved family in this hour of grief. My condolences are with the bereaved family.
Earlier, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi on his death anniversary in Shimla. He garlanded the statue of Rajiv Gandhi at Sadbhavna Chowk in Chhota Shimla. Sukhwinder Singh said, Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life for the unity and integrity of this country. Whenever there was a crisis on the country, Rajiv Gandhi never back down from sacrificing. Today’s 21st century India, information revolution and digital revolution were conceived by Rajiv Gandhi 40 years ago. The digital age started with his thinking, which we are getting today. Rajiv Gandhi was the thinking of the youth of this country and today we are getting the benefit of their thinking.
The Chief Minister also said that the present state government is committed to the former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi’s dream of upliftment of weak and marginalized sections of the society. Recalling his great contribution, he said that Rajiv Gandhi sacrificed his life for the unity and integrity of the country and laid the foundation of many transformational initiatives that promoted the progress and prosperity of the nation. Sukhwinder Singh said that the present state government has launched the Rajiv Gandhi Day Boarding School Scheme to improve the standard of education.
