A statement by DUSU said that while talking to the students, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha highlighted the importance of democratic participation and inclusive educational places. The students expressed concern over caste -based discrimination, faculty positions and lack of marginalized communities in top administrative positions and their boycott with appointment to top multinational corporations. He also expressed complaints about the inconsistent educational load of skill enhancement courses (SEC) and price enrichment courses (VAC) under the National Education Policy (NEP), which he alleged that it has given great power to the faculty members.

Another major issue was ER (required repetition), NA (not available) and the marking of absent situations, which the students claimed that it was being used incorrectly, affecting thousands of people. Rahul Gandhi urged the students to take inspiration from BR Ambedkar’s message “Educated, Movement and Organize”, as he encouraged the students to play an active role in creating a fair and inclusive educational ecosystem. The Congress leader said, “The role of students is beyond classes – they should stand for the rights of oppressed and disadvantaged people.”
