The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken an important and strict step regarding air travel in India. New guidelines will apply to flights that fly or descend from military airports in India. This instruction will be strictly followed at sensitive airports near the western border of India.
List of airports
Amritsar airport
Jammu Airport
Srinagar Airport
Jaisalmer Airport
According to the instructions, passengers will have to keep the curtains of the windows down during the takeoff and landing at these places. The DGCA has said that this rule will have to be followed until the aircraft reaches a height of 10,000 feet or stops completely on the ground. This instruction has been issued keeping national security in mind. In recent years, it has been observed that passengers often take photos or videos from the windows of the aircraft during takeoff or landing on these sensitive airbase and later post them on social media.
Photography/videography is not allowed
These photographs sometimes show military activities, airbase layouts and other sensitive areas, which can potentially compromise national security. Therefore, DGCA has made it mandatory that the curtains of the windows be down. DGCA clearly stated that passengers are not allowed to take photos or videos on military airbase. Strict legal action will be taken against any person who violates this rule.
What are the punishment for violation of rules?
Violations may face penalty or other punishment under the Civil Aviation Rules. Airlines have been instructed to inform passengers about these rules before flying and during flight. The cabin crew will also be given special training for this purpose.
