Pakistan contacted India twice to end enmity, including a formal message from the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) on the evening of 7 May, a day later the Indian armed forces demolished nine terrorist bases under Operation Sindoor. However, according to the people aware of this conversation, Islamabad’s honesty was suspicious, as the appeal of peace as well as renewed attacks on Indian military facilities. After intensive military actions from across the border for three more days from both sides, DGMO-level talks took place on May 10 at 3:35 pm, during which India and Pakistan agreed to the ceasefire. The ceasefire was made smooth through the established military communication channels, not through American mediation and its purpose was to reduce stress between two atomic-skills neighbors.

Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal had said in a press briefing that a ceasefire was proposed when the DGMO of Pakistan requested a conversation with its Indian counterpart, because “effective attacks were carried out by the Indian Air Force on Pakistani bases. More than 160 people have been killed in accurate attacks from across, their colleagues, their colleagues and Pakistani military personnel.

Many of those killed in Bahawalpur are said to be relatives of Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar. However, Pakistan has officially admitted that only 11 military personnel died and 78 were injured. Although the ceasefire is still going on, the Indian Defense Officer is cautious about Pakistan’s intentions.
