The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has officially nominated Jeevan Gupta as its candidate for the Ludhiana West Assembly by -election to be held on June 19, 2025. The announcement was made through a press release issued by the BJP’s Central Election Committee. Before declaring Jeevan Gupta as its candidate, the BJP accelerated its campaign efforts through regular meetings with party workers in Ludhiana West and local mobilization operations. According to the Times of India report, in a recent event, senior leaders addressed the ground level members and motivated them to prepare for a four-cone match.

The BJP has been contesting the Ludhiana West Assembly seat since 2012, including Rajinder Bhandari (2012), Kamal Chaitli (2017) and Bikram Sidhu (2022), but has not yet won the constituency. The Ludhiana Western by -election has attracted a lot of attention politically, in which major parties have fielded major candidates.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP): Rajya Sabha MP and industrialist Sanjeev Arora has been nominated. A grand road show in Ludhiana led to his candidature, which included AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and other senior leaders.
Indian National Congress (INC): Former MLA and Minister of State Bharat Bhushan Ashu is contesting from this seat. Ashu was earlier in Ludhiana West seat in 2012 and 2017, but lost to Gogi in 2022. His nomination was supported by senior Congress leaders including Bhupesh Baghel and Amarinder Singh Raja Waring.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD): Advocate Parupakar Singh Ghuman is representing SAD. Ghumans are focused on the ground connectivity, which aims to revive the party’s presence in the constituency.
