Rituraj Gaikwad did not get a place in the Indian team for the tour of England. However, he is preparing to fly to England. Team India will start the Test series against England from June 20 and Rituraj Gaikwad will be seen playing in England’s County Championship from July 22. He has signed for the entire season by Yorkshire at the County Championship. Gaikwad was withdrawn due to injury between IPL 2025 and the team not only came out of the playoff race but also finished in the last place. However, in view of his domestic performance, he was expected to be selected in the Test team on the tour of England, but he was not selected.

Now this emerging star has got a chance to play in England’s County Championship. On 10 June 2025, Yorkshire County Cricket Club announced the 28 -year -old Indian opener signed as a foreign player for the 2025 season. Gaikwad will also play in the County Championship and Metro Bank ODI Cup for Yorkshire by the end of the season from 22 July.

Gaikwad has caught everyone’s attention with his best domestic and IPL performance. He made his debut in first class cricket in the 2016-17 Ranji Trophy and has been captaining the team since then. His average in first class cricket is 41.77, including seven centuries, while List A cricket shows an average of 56.15 and 16 centuries.
