ISSF World Cup: Bronze medal in women’s 50m rifle three position to Sifat Kaur Samra

Top Indian shooter Sifat Kaur Samra won a bronze medal in the women’s 50m rifle three position competition at the ISSF World Cup on Thursday. In the women’s 50m rifle three position event, the current world record holder 23 -year -old Sifat scored 453.1 in the final of eight shooters.

Norway’s Gennet Hague Dusted won the gold medal with 466.9 points while Emily Jigi of Switzerland won the silver medal with 464.8 points. Emily finished ninth in qualification with 590 points but managed to make it to the final as two shooters in the top eight were shooting for the ranking points (RPO) only. In the qualification, Sifat finished second by scoring a total of 592 marks in three phases of Neeling, Prone and Standing.

He won a gold medal at the World Cup at Buenos Aires earlier this year, which made a spectacular start of the session after a disappointing performance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. France’s Agathe Cecil Camily Girard also scored 592 points in the qualification but topped the 10 points inner parts (X) due to more targets. Switzerland’s Audrey Goganiat finished third in qualifying.

Other Indians finished 11th with 589 points in the Ashasi Chowk qualification, while Anjum Maudgil finished 27th with 586 points. Shrisanka Sadangi finished 53rd with 582 points and Nischal finished 60th.
