Flight services restored at Ahmedabad Airport, Ministry of Civil Aviation gave information

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has announced that general operations at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport in Ahmedabad have started again. The incident occurred a few hours after the flight of Air India aircraft to London flying. The accident included flight AI171 carrying 242 people, which temporarily shut down all the flight services, as rescue and emergency teams were working on the spot. The ministry said in an official statement, “Now flight operations have started again.”

The officials had first sealed the roads leading to the airport and suspended services to ensure rapid rescue operations. The accident is under investigation, including several agencies. This tragedy has expressed condolences and support from leaders, officials and citizens across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has spoken to Home Minister Amit Shah and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu. He has asked them to go to Ahmedabad to ensure that all possible assistance should be given to the people affected by the aircraft accident.
Rammohan Naidu’s office said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Civil Aviation Minister Rammohan Naidu and took stock of the Air India aircraft accident in Ahmedabad. The minister told the Prime Minister that he is going to Ahmedabad to monitor rescue and relief operations. The Prime Minister has directed the minister to provide all the necessary assistance immediately and asked to be updated regularly about the situation. All concerned agencies are on high alert and coordinated efforts are on.

A source of the Ministry of Civil Aviation said that the Director General of the Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (AAIB) has left for Ahmedabad for investigation with the team. Air India chairman N. Chandrasekaran said that I confirm with great grief that Air India flight 171, which flew from Ahmedabad London Gatwick, was involved in a tragic accident today.
