A statement issued by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that some Indian citizens have also been assisted to exit Iran via Armenia border. The Ministry of External Affairs has said in a statement that the embassy is constantly in touch with the Indian community, so that all possible assistance can be provided. The statement said that in view of the uncertainty of the situation, further advice can be issued.
Earlier, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs had said that all Indian citizens in Iran have been requested to immediately contact the Indian embassy and provide their location and contact number, as the conflict between Iran and Israel has intensified. The Indian mission has also advised all Indian citizens and people of Indian origin (PIOs) to go out of Tehran with their own resources to move to a safe place outside the city. The Indian Embassy in Tehran said in a post on ‘X’, “All Indian citizens who are in Tehran and are not in contact with the embassy are requested to immediately contact the Indian Embassy in Tehran and provide their location and contact number.
