The match being played in Gaul is the 119th and final match of his Test career. Angelo announced his retirement from Test cricket last month.

Sri Lankan star cricketer Angelo Mathews made his Test debut in 2009 and has been an important part of the Sri Lankan team since then. Mathews has captained Sri Lanka in 34 Tests. This includes the historic victory in Handingley in 2014. In the second innings of this match, there was a memorable shift of 160 runs.
