Ranthambore’s popular tigress Erohed dies of brain tumor

Earohed, one of the popular tigers of Ranthambore National Park, has died. The officers provided this information. Forest officials said Earohed (T-84) died of brain tumor.

It is noteworthy that nearly 11 -year -old Eroh was from the family of the famous tigress fish of Ranthambore National Park. A few days ago, Earohed came into the limelight when she hunted crocodile in a reservoir and a video of it went viral.

According to wildlife lovers, such a victim by Erohed reminded of fish hunting skills, often known as ‘Rani of Ranthambore’ and ‘crocodile hunters’.

Forest officials and wildlife lovers paid homage to Eroh on Thursday before the last rites. Shakir Ali, senior wildlife guide from Ranthambore, said, Earohed, both strength and spirit, carried forward the legacy of their mother fish.

According to Rathambore’s Field Director Anoop KR, the tigress was born in February 2014. It was seen in most of the garden zones 2, 3, 4 and 5, with Nalghati and Rajbagh Lake its main area.

He said, Earohed was appreciated not only for its attractive form but also for its important role in increasing the tiger population. Earohed became a four -time mother and gave birth to 10 cubs, six of which are still alive. This tigress was last become a mother in 2023.

It is also noteworthy that he died only a few days after his child Kanakati was taken out of the garden by the forest department. Members of the Ranthambore Nature Guide Association and other wildlife lovers paid floral tributes to Eroh. Association president Yadavindra Singh said that Earohed would be remembered for his fierce nature and deep impression on the ecological heritage of the garden.
