Chopra’s second throw was 85.10 meters and after that he fouled in his next three attempts. He threw 82.89 meters in his sixth and final attempt. Weber finished second with his initial attempt of 87.88 meters.
Louis Maurisio da Silva of Brazil finished third with his third attempt of 86.62 meters. Chopra, who won gold and silver medals in two consecutive Olympics, later told the broadcast, “I am happy with my throw. Today my run up was very fast. Chopra won his last title in the Diamond League in June 2023 with a throw of 87.66 meters. He then finished second in Diamond League Kachh competitions. The Haryana star player won for the first time in the Paris phase of the Diamond League.

31 -year -old Weber of Germany also defeated Chopra in Janus Kusosinski Memorial Meet in Poland on 23 May. Weber then finished first by covering a distance of 86.12 meters while Chopra finished second with 84.14 meters.
The Indian player started the 2025 season by winning the title at an invitation competition in Potchefstruj, South Africa. It was a minor level (category F) competition, in which he threw a throw of 84.52 meters.
