Pakistan has announced on the social media platform X that it is nominating US President Donald Trump for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. The post has recently claimed his decisive diplomatic role and leadership during the India-Pakistan conflict, stating that Trump’s intervention was important in reducing tension between two nuclear-skills neighbors, the claim has been clearly rejected by India. India says that Islamabad contacted New Delhi demanding a ceasefire, which had agreed between the two countries and neither Trump nor America had any role in it. Earlier this week, Trump was also told this during a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Trump again took credit for India-Pakistan ceasefire
Trump reiterated his stand on Friday and said that he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for many achievements. These include their role in their efforts related to India and Pakistan and the mediation of a treaty, which is expected to be signed on Monday, which aims to end enmity between the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda. Trump said that I should have met this four or five times. They do not give me the Nobel Peace Prize as they only give it to liberals.

Pakistani army chief Asim Munir meets Trump
Amid growing diplomatic engagement, sources say Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir held a private meeting with President Trump during a visit to the US. Although no official statement has been issued, internal sources say the discussion was focused on regional stability and safety cooperation. The meeting is believed to have strengthened Pakistan’s decision to publicly support Trump for the prestigious International Award.
