Bharatiya Janata Party leader Nishikant Dubey on Sunday targeted Rahul Gandhi and questioned the Congress leader’s intentions to encourage English learning rather than local languages. He also pointed to the “hypocrisy” to oppose the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 for the selection of language and said that the 1986 NEP also had similar goals. Nishikant Dubey wrote on X that Rahul Gandhi ji is your investigative advisor to ruin you, it is the education policy given by your father to the country 1986, in which your father is promising to promote Hindi, teach Sanskrit language and translate from English to English languages from the country.

The BJP leader further said that the same education policy is almost going on, the students have increased with the regional languages, the Honorable Prime Minister Modi has done it in 2020. Russia, China, France, Germany, Arabs countries, Japan, Korea are all proud of their language and are developed, why do you proud of English like slaves, we are proud of Santhali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Bungalow, Malayalam, Hindi, Sanskrit.

Dubey’s post was done in response to another post by Rahul Gandhi, in which he supported learning English to people, especially the deprived background. He said that learning language can be a step towards equality, more employment opportunities, which the BJP-RSS does not want. The Congress leader said in a post on X, “This is not a dam of English, it is a bridge. English is not shame, it is a power. It is not a chain – it is a means of breaking chains. BJP -RSS does not want India’s poor children to learn English – because they don’t want you to ask questions, move forward and become the same.”
