Bypoll Results 2025 Update | Counting of by -elections continues, BJP ahead in 2 seats in Gujarat, Congress in Nilambur, Ludhiana West AAP in West

The Congress -led United Democratic Front (UDF) is leading in Nilambur, Kerala, while in Ludhiana West of Punjab, AAP has taken an edge, it is revealed by early trends. The Trinamool Congress is leading in Kaliganj, West Bengal, where elections are to be held next year, while the BJP is leading in Kadi and Visavadar in Gujarat – where it is expecting to break the 18 -year mood. The counting of votes for the assembly by -election in five seats in four states began on Monday. The two seats in Gujarat – Visavadar and Kadi assembly seats – and Punjab (Ludhiana West), Bengal (Kaliganj) and Kerala (Nilambur) were held on June 19 for one seat each.

Ludhiana West by -election: ‘AAP’ candidate Sanjeev Arora ahead in initial trend
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Sanjeev Arora is ahead of 1,269 votes from his close rival and Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu for the by -election in Ludhiana West Assembly seat in Punjab on Monday. After the first phase of counting, Arora got 2,895 and Ashu got 1,626 votes. BJP’s Jeevan Gupta is third with 1,117 votes. The counting of votes for the by -election held on June 19 on this assembly seat started at 8 am at a center installed at Khalsa College for Women at eight in the morning. After the death of ‘AAP’ MLA Gurpreet Bassi Gogi in January, this seat became vacant and the election became necessary here. The by -election recorded 51.33 percent polling, which is much lower than the 64 percent polling recorded in the 2022 assembly elections. 14 candidates were in the fray for the by -election.

Counting continues for the subcontinent in Kaliganj seat in West Bengal
The counting of votes is going on on Monday amid tight security for the by -election in Kaliganj assembly seat in Nadia district of West Bengal. An Election Commission official gave this information. “The counting of votes for the by -election in Kaliganj seat started at around 8 am.” The by -election in Kaliganj was held on June 19 and 60.32 percent polling. In February, the by -election was necessary due to the sudden demise of Trinamool Congress MLA Naseeruddin Ahmed. His daughter Alifa Ahmed (38) tried his luck from this seat as a Trinamool Congress candidate. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has nominated Ashish Ghosh as its candidate, while Congress candidate Kaabil Uddin Sheikh is contesting with the support of Marxist Communist Party (CPI -M).
Nilambur by -election counts continue, UDF initial lead
The counting of votes began on Monday for the by -election in Nilambur seat in northern Kerala, where the ruling Marxist Communist Party (CPI -M) -led coalition Left Democratic Front (LDF) and Congress Party -led opposition parties coalitions United Democratic Front (UDF). The counting of votes started at 8 am at Chungathara Martoma Higher Secondary School. UDF candidate Aryadan Shaukat is getting a minor lead in the initial trends of counting. First postal ballots were counted, then the votes recorded in electronic voting machines (EVMs) were counted at 8.10 am. This seat was voted on June 19. 263 polling stations were set up during the election and counting will be held in 19 rounds. Nilambur seat was vacant after the resignation of MLA PV Anwar.

Gujarat by -election: counting of votes for Visavadar and Kadi assembly seat
Counting is going on on Monday for the by -elections in Visavadar and Kadi assembly seats in Gujarat. Officials said that in the by -election held on June 19, 57.90 percent polling was held on Kadi seat of Mehsana district and 56.89 percent in Visavadar constituency of Junagadh district. He said that the counting of votes started at 8 am on Monday morning. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) fielded their candidates in both seats. The Visavadar seat became vacant in December 2023 after the then ‘AAP’ MLA Bhupendra Bhayani resigned and joined the ruling BJP. The BJP nominated Kirit Patel for the Visavadar by -election, while the Congress fielded Nitin Ranparia. The Aam Aadmi Party fielded Gopal Italia. The Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates have been vacant by the death of BJP MLA Karsan Solanki in February. The BJP has fielded Rajendra Chavda from Kadi, while the Congress has given ticket to former MLA Ramesh Chavda. Ramesh Chavda won this seat in 2012 but lost to BJP’s Karsanbhai Solanki in 2017. Like Visavadar, the tight seat also had a triangular contest. In this election, ‘AAP’ fielded Jagdish Chavda. BJP has 161 MLAs in the 182 -member assembly of Gujarat while Congress has 12 and ‘AAP’ MLAs. The Samajwadi Party has one seat and two seats are independent MLAs.
