The return of Indians from Israel continues. This is returning under Operation Sindhu. The second batch of 443 Indian citizens, who was taken out of Israel, left for Jordan and Egypt in two groups on Monday for home. With this, the total number of Indians extracted from the war -torn country in two days has increased to 603. The first batch of 160 people for Jordan left on Sunday from where they boarded the aircraft at 2:15 pm today. This information was given by a person riding on the aircraft to ‘PTI-language’ before departure. On Monday, 443 people crossing the border of Israel will be in two separate aircraft from Jordan and Egypt which have been managed by the Ministry of External Affairs with the coordination of Indian missions in countries.
The complex and coordinated attempt between New Delhi and the three missions has given great relief to Indians in Israel, who were constantly struggling with sirens and were often taking shelter in bunkers and safe rooms to avoid Iran’s missile and drone attacks. Sensing the seriousness of the situation, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv established a control room working 24 hours last week to oversee all aspects of the evacuation effort. The control room issued advice as per the changing situation, directed Indian citizens to register through an online portal and gathered detailed information from Indian citizens across Israel and replied to thousands of phone calls and emails.
